5 Marketing Ideas You Can Start Today

Your business needs to bring in new customers, but you don’t know where to start. Whist building a comprehensive plan can take up a lot of your time, there are plenty of things you can get started on right now

We have chosen our top 5 marketing ideas that you can start today to quickly amp up your business.

Manage and ask for reviews

Have you ever done a google search of your name? What about for your business? This is what your customers do and you should be making sure you get seen in the best light possible.

Note the review sites that come up in the search results and take a look at your reviews. Don’t have any? Setup profiles on the most popular review sites, including a google places page so patients can start leaving feedback.

If you already have reviews, make sure you’ve claimed your profiles and filled them out with complete, accurate information.

Then start asking.

Have an email list of customers already? Why not send a quick email asking for reviews with links to you review pages. See your clients face to face? Ask when you have finished your service, perhaps even with a card containing instructions.

Especially if you have good relations, asking is still the best way to gain feedback from your clients and customers.

Regularly contact existing customers

While trying to get new business, never forget about your existing or past customer base.  Remember – your current customers are those that will refer friends and family, and will likely buy from you in the future.

Maintain those relationships. Email marketing is a great way to keep in touch with existing customers and keep your business first in their mind. It also lets you showcase offers to people who already trust your business.

Social media is also a good way to regularly appear in your customers life. Posting regular updates and content means you show up in their feeds, and in the top of their mind when they need your services.

Look inside your business.

When marketing any Business, you need to look at the whole experience. Not only evaluating the marketing happening outside your business, but looking at what your customers experience within it as well.

Is your website or your staff able to convert potential customers? Are any correspondences timely and friendly? Are your staff members knowledgeable about your services?

You can do all the marketing in the world, but it won’t matter if new patients are lost during the first phone call.

Make sure you also have someone available to update and maintain your website and respond to enquiries. There is no quicker way to lose a prospect than have their questions and enquiries ignored. Try and aim for within 24 hours or quicker.

Get Involved With PPC advertising

If you are looking for an immediate way of getting your business seen in front of new customers, you may want to consider pay-per-click (PPC) advertising.

Online platforms like Google AdWords allow you to target potential customers searching for a business like yours/  You choose the search terms for which you want your ads to appear, create the ad, and link it to a landing page on your website. And, as the name suggests, you only pay when someone clicks on your ad.

PPC can be an effective way to get your business in front of an appropriate audience right away, especially if your website isn’t ranking well in normal search engines.

However, PPC can pose a steep learning curve so unless you are familiar with the systems try and get some professional advice.

Maintain your website

Your website is the storefront of your business online, and the culmination of all your marketing efforts. You need to make sure is showcases what makes your business unique, and is set up to convert new customers that visit it.

Have a look at your site and see if it currently contains any of these key features.

  • Is it designed to appeal to your ideal patient? (i.e. families, seniors, emergency cases, etc.)
  • Do you differentiate your business? Does your website stand out from your competitors and offer things that theirs doesn't?
  • Has your website design been updated recently? An outdated design can reflect poorly on a business.
  • Is it responsive and designed for mobile?
  • Does your website contain high quality content designed to persuade visitors to choose you?
  • Do you have calls-to-action encouraging website visitors engage with your business?
